Do you take walk ins?

We take walk ins for a seat at the bar only.

Why tickets for the tasting menu instead of reservations?

We are a small and ambitious team intent on creating a world-class and captivating experience for our guests. Making the reservations system more efficient allows us to focus on providing the highest level of service and dining possible.

How long does it take?

This adventure takes about three hours - a touch less for pairs, and a little more for larger groups.

How can I buy a ticket for a party of eight or more diners?

Due to the size of our kitchen and the scale of our ambition, we do only seat tables of up to seven diners, so please choose them wisely - we have found that those with the most curious souls often make for the best companions. If you have a larger party in mind, please email us about booking out a portion of the restaurant or booking a large party in advance for a tailored menu.

Do I have to order wine in advance?

No, you can decide when you dine - please choose “i'll decide later” at checkout. We have an extensive and eclectic selections of wines, beers, cocktails, and fine spirits.

Does my credit card get charged in full?

Your credit card will be charged in full for the price of the tasting menu and any supplements that you choose.

Do you accomodate for dietary restrictions?

We happily accommodate any dietary allergies and aversions as long as we know about the restriction at least 48 hours in advance. Please check with your friends, and email reservations@restaurantlume.com about any restrictions, describing them as explicitly as necessary or conversely answer the checkout question. Most preferences will also be accommodated, but we recommend that diners come with an open mind, ready to try things they might not ordinarily prefer, trusting that with so many courses they will undoubtedly find most things easy to like.

I forgot my anniversary/partner's birthday/an important meeting for my boss. Any chance of a table today/tonight?

Sure. Online reservations for the same-day close at midday. After this time, please call the restaurant on 03 9690 0185 for any last minute bookings.

We are celebrating a birthday, can I bring along a cake?

No. We love celebrating special occasions with our guests, and are always excited to acknowledge birthdays with our proprietary blend of thoughtfulness and culinary ingenuity. Please let us know at the time of booking so that we can tailor something accordingly.

Can I get a refund once purchased? Can I exchange my ticket for a different night?

Just like a sporting event, concert or theater ticket all sales are final and no refunds are issued. If however a reservation absolutely must be cancelled or changed due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund or change of date may be given but will be at the discretion of management. However, your ticket is completely transferable. To transfer a ticket, go to the "My Account" area of Tock and, using the upper right navigation pane, select "Your Tickets". Each ticket has a transfer button next to it, that enables you to put it in another person’s name.
